In the message on Jonah 1:11-17, John McGowan outlines:
- God’s rescue of Jonah
- God’s rescue of sinners through the gospel
- What in the message stood out to you?
- How would you explain the gospel to someone?
- Read John 3:1-21 and Ephesians 2:1-20. What do these passages tell us about what is true of salvation through Jesus Christ?
- After John’s message, we got to celebrate baptism and hear the story of how God has worked in Annie’s life. How has God worked in your life? As a group, share with each other how you came to make a decision to place personal trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. How have you seen the Holy Spirit at work in your life since making that decision?
- Think about some people in your network of relationships that have not embraced God’s rescue through Jesus Christ. As a group, pray for them by name. And during this upcoming week commit to praying for them that God would open their hearts to the truth of the God’s rescue through Jesus Christ.
